Dwayne Bravo and Ian Bishop Enter Inaugural CPL Hall of Fame

Dwayne Bravo and Ian Bishop have been confirmed as the inaugural inductees into the newly established Republic Bank Caribbean Premier League Hall of Fame.

Bravo will become the first person inducted in the player category, while Bishop will be recognised in the non-player category for his contribution to the tournament since its launch in 2013.

The pair will be formally honoured during the inaugural CPL Hall of Fame Gala Dinner at The Hilton Hotel in Barbados on Tuesday, September 15, 2026.

The event will bring together leading figures from West Indies cricket, including players, coaches, broadcasters, franchise owners and tournament partners, to celebrate the people who have helped shape the CPL over more than a decade.

Proceeds from the gala dinner will support The Sir Clive Lloyd Healthcare Foundation and its work to improve prostate cancer awareness and testing across the Caribbean.

Dwayne Bravo Inducted in Player Category

Bravo has been selected as the first player inducted into the CPL Hall of Fame following a highly successful career in T20 cricket.

The Trinidadian all-rounder won more than 15 T20 titles during an 18-year career, including the ICC Men's T20 World Cup with West Indies in 2012 and 2016.

He also collected multiple Indian Premier League titles with Chennai Super Kings and enjoyed further success in competitions including Australia's Big Bash League and the Pakistan Super League.

Bravo became the first bowler to reach 500 wickets in T20 cricket and remains one of the most successful players in CPL history.

He is the tournament's third-highest wicket-taker with 129 dismissals and its most decorated player. Bravo won five CPL titles on the field, lifting the trophy with Trinbago Knight Riders in 2015, 2017, 2018 and 2020 before helping St Kitts and Nevis Patriots win their first title in 2021.

He added another championship as a coach in 2025, guiding Trinbago Knight Riders to the CPL title.

His achievements as a player and coach have made him one of the most influential figures in the history of the competition.

Ian Bishop Recognised for Broadcasting Contribution

Former West Indies fast bowler and respected broadcaster Ian Bishop will become the first inductee in the CPL Hall of Fame's non-player category.

Bishop has been closely associated with the tournament since its inaugural season and has played an important role in presenting Caribbean cricket to audiences around the world.

His knowledge, enthusiasm and distinctive commentary have helped tell the stories of the CPL's teams and players while capturing many of the competition's most memorable moments.

Bishop is widely recognised as one of cricket's leading commentators. His broadcasting career has included major international tournaments and historic West Indies performances, most notably the dramatic conclusion of the 2016 ICC Men's T20 World Cup final.

His induction recognises his contribution to the development, identity and international appeal of the CPL.

Inaugural CPL Hall of Fame Gala Dinner

The Hall of Fame has been created to celebrate the players and other influential figures who have contributed to the growth of the Caribbean Premier League since 2013.

Bravo and Bishop will officially receive their honours at the gala dinner in Barbados on September 15.

The ceremony will celebrate the competition's history and recognise its importance to cricket throughout the Caribbean, while also raising funds to support prostate cancer awareness and testing across the region.
