Shalulile: 'I had options but...'

New Young Africans SC star Peter Shalulile has revealed that he had several options on the table before deciding to join the Tanzanian giants.

Shalulile recently joined Yanga on a reported two-year deal after being released by Mamelodi Sundowns at the end of last season.

The Namibia international also reportedly received a handsome signing-on fee, having been regarded as a marquee signing for the Tanzanian Premier League.

Shalulile will now reunite with his former Mamelodi Sundowns coach, Manqoba Mngqithi, and the striker has explained that despite having several offers to consider, Yanga was the right move for him.

"It was not an easy choice because I had many options, but I eventually decided on a great club -- a club of the people," Shalulile said, according to The Guardian Tanzania.

"When a team like Yanga shows interest, it reflects their ambition and the direction they want to go.

"I first spoke with the club president a couple of seasons ago while I was still at Sundowns.

The right time for the move

"He told me then that he wanted to see me play for this club one day, and now we are finally here.

"When the club formally approached me, I needed time to reflect before making my decision. After careful consideration, I was convinced this was the right move for me."
