Chelsea have completed the signing of experienced England forward Danny Welbeck on a two-year deal, bringing the 35-year-old striker to Stamford Bridge as new manager Xabi Alonso continues to reshape his squad ahead of the new Premier League season.
The veteran forward, who arrives from Brighton & Hove Albion, will remain with the Blues until 2028 after agreeing terms on a contract that adds experience and leadership to Chelsea's attacking options.

Speaking after sealing the move, Welbeck expressed excitement about returning to one of England's biggest football stages, insisting he still has the ambition and drive to compete at the highest level.
"I am really honoured to join a club of this size at such an exciting time. I already know some of the players and I have had great conversations with the manager. I still have the hunger to compete and I am ready to give everything for the club and its supporters," he said.
Chelsea believe Welbeck's wealth of experience will be valuable as Alonso prepares the squad for a demanding domestic and European campaign.
The striker arrives with one of the most decorated careers among English forwards of his generation. Across spells with Manchester United, Arsenal, Watford and Brighton, he has amassed more than 400 Premier League appearances while also featuring regularly in the UEFA Champions League.
Welbeck won the Premier League title, two League Cups, the Community Shield and the FIFA Club World Cup during his time under Sir Alex Ferguson at Manchester United before moving to Arsenal in 2014.

At the Emirates, he scored 32 goals in 126 appearances and helped the Gunners lift the FA Cup and Community Shield before later joining Watford and eventually Brighton.
His spell at Brighton proved particularly productive, with the striker making more than 200 appearances and scoring 26 Premier League goals across his final two seasons with the Seagulls.
On the international stage, Welbeck earned 42 caps for England, scored 16 goals and represented the Three Lions at two FIFA World Cups as well as the UEFA Euro 2012 tournament.
Chelsea will now hope the experienced forward can provide both goals and leadership as Alonso begins a new era at Stamford Bridge, with the club targeting a stronger challenge for silverware in the coming season.
