Newcastle United have work to do if they are to give Eddie Howe a robust squad to work with before the season starts in a just over three weeks. The Magpies are heading to Spain for a training camp at La Manga, on the back of an embarrassing 4-1 defeat to Bristol City.
That result exposed the weaknesses in the United squad that Howe and Co will already be well aware of, and while there were still many big names absent, will have sharpened the transfer focus.
Goalkeeper Lukas Hornicek could be the next arrival, with Newcastle looking to strike a deal with Braga for the Czech international, but much of the focus remains on Bruno Guimaraes' future, with the Brazilian due to meet up with the squad imminently, amid interest from Arsenal.
