The Roosters are eyeing off a minor premiership this season but despite the climb up the ladder, 2026 is being tipped as being the final year for Daly Cherry-Evans.

Cherry-Evans has been solid without being spectacular this season, but showed last Friday night he still has plenty of class, kicking a match-winning field goal against Newcastle.
The champion halfback joined the Roosters on a one-year deal with an option for 2027, but a club great believes Cherry-Evans will hang up the boots at the end of this season.
"I think it's curtains. Even if they do win the comp and he does what he's doing now, I still think it's a better business decision than the Roosters and the squad they've got to give the reins to Sam (Walker)," Braith Anasta said on NRL360.
The Roosters don't have a shortage of options in the halves which will attribute to the club's likely decision to help nudge Cherry-Evans out the door.
The Roosters hope Sam Walker can be their halfback for the next ten years while Hugo Savala has emerged as one of the NRL's most promising talents.

Savala has the versatility to play five eighth, halfback, centre and lock but will likely start alongside Walker in the halves next year.
The Tricolours also have a pair of young guns in the system with very bright futures in Toby Rodwell and 18-year-old Carter Mareko.
"I think the curtain's coming down on a wonderful career. I really do," The Daily Telegraph's Riccio said on Tuesday night's episode of NRL360.
"I think this baton change has to happen.
"If you re-sign DCE, you run the risk of losing your kids. I firmly believe we're watching the final days of DCE."
