Huddersfield Town are set to come up against a number of their former players in League One this season.

Several of Town's ex-players are now featuring for the likes of Oxford United, MK Dons, Doncaster Rovers, Leyton Orient and Luton Town, who will all take on the Terriers in the third tier this term.

We've taken a look at some of the Terriers' former contingent that could line up against Town this season.

Ruben Roosken

Roosken is set to take on the Terriers this season upon completing a permanent transfer to Oxford United this summer. The 26-year-old joined United in January from Town, with the loan containing an obligation to buy.

The defender featured just four times for the U's during his loan stint, as they were relegated from the Championship. Roosken made 39 appearances during his time at Town, having joined from Heracles Almelo in January 2025.

Brodie Spencer

Spencer is another of Town's former contingent to have signed for Oxford, with the defender completing a transfer last summer. The 22-year-old signed for the Terriers in 2020 and went on to feature 44 times for the first team.

Spencer broke into Town's first team following a loan spell at Motherwell, where he made 18 appearances in the 2023/24 campaign. The defender made 39 appearances in all competitions last term, 33 of which were for Oxford, while the 22-year-old was capped a further six times by Northern Ireland, taking his number of international appearances to 23 to date.

Michal Helik

Helik completes a trio of Oxford players that are set to line up against Town this season, following their relegation from the second tier. The centre-back joined Town in 2022 and went on to make 100 appearances for the club, prior to his departure to the U's in January 2025.

Helik was named Hargreaves Memorial Player of the Year for the 2022/23 campaign during his time with Town. The defender has since gone on to feature 65 times for the U's, with 45 of those appearances having been made last term.

Ben Wiles

Wiles is set to come up against the Terriers this season following his promotion with MK Dons last term. The midfielder joined his new side from Town in January, who went on to achieve a second-placed finish in League Two.

Wiles signed for the Terriers from Rotherham United in August 2023, and made 110 appearances for Town across his two-and-a-half year spell. The 27-year-old featured 22 times for MK Dons in the second half of the campaign, helping his side to seal a return to the third tier after a three-year absence.

Matty Pearson

Pearson is in line to face Town again this term, having done so twice for Doncaster Rovers last season. The defender joined Rovers following his departure from Town last summer, and went on to feature in both February meetings against the Terriers.

The 32-year-old had a four-year spell with the Terriers after joining from Luton Town in 2021, with the defender making 135 appearances for the club prior to his release in 2025. The centre-back has since featured 37 times for Doncaster, helping his side to secure a 14th-placed finish in League One last time out.

Rarmani Edmonds-Green

Edmonds-Green could take on Town this season for Leyton Orient, with the defender having been at the club since February 2025. The 27-year-old had an eight-year spell with the Terriers between 2016 and 2024, making 55 senior appearances in total, as well as having loan stints at Brighouse Town, Bromley, Swindon Town, Rotherham United and Wigan Athletic.

Edmonds-Green left the Terriers to sign for Charlton Athletic, before going on to join Orient, where he has made 29 appearances. The defender featured against Town on the opening day of last season, a 3-0 win for the Terriers, in one of nine appearances last term.

Nahki Wells

Wells is set to take on the Terriers again this season for Luton Town, where the forward has been since last summer. The 36-year-old scored ten goals in 43 games for the Hatters last term, and featured against Town at Accu Stadium in January.

Wells had a three-and-a-half year stint with the Terriers, with the forward netting 49 goals in 152 appearances during his time at the club. The striker departed Town in the August following their promotion to the Premier League to sign for Burnley, with the attacker going on to play for QPR and Bristol City, prior to joining the Hatters.
