Alan Shearer had to dash back from the World Cup to see his daughter Hollie marry her rugby-playing partner.
The ex-Newcastle United striker's second-oldest child exchanged vows with England centre Joe Marchant in Winchester, having previously become engaged in November 2024 after two years of dating.
Hollie subsequently relocated to France with her partner when Marchant put pen to paper for Stade Francais.
Shearer had been fulfilling co-commentary duties for the World Cup final between Spain and Argentina the previous weekend. He swiftly made his way back to the UK to join the celebrations at the Royal Oak in Winchester.
The Premier League's all-time record goal-scorer shared photographs of Hollie and Joe's nuptials.
One image showed the beaming bride holding her ring aloft in delight as her new husband signed the register to make their union official.
A further picture, originally shared by Shearer's other daughter Chloe, captured the newlyweds taking to the dance floor following their vows.
Earlier this year, Hollie offered a glimpse of the forthcoming wedding by posting her hen do on Instagram.
On the occasion, the bride-to-be wore a white cut-out dress and bikini as she counted down to marrying the rugby star.
The outfit that caught the attention of her Instagram followers was a sheer skirt emblazoned with 'Mrs Marchant' across the back.
With the wedding now official, the besotted couple are expected to head off on honeymoon before Shearer returns for another Premier League campaign as a hugely popular pundit.
In April 2022, Hollie confirmed her romance with the rugby ace after they had been dating for four months.
Marchant has been a key figure for England over the years, playing his part in the side that finished third at the 2023 World Cup.
He moved from Harlequins in December 2022 to join Top 14 side Stade Français, who are based in Paris.
BBC pundit Shearer, when previously asked about his daughter's romance with Joe, quipped: "I'm just glad it's not a footballer."
